Remington is a bit of a rum connoisseur, er snob maybe?, so any chance he can mix up a cocktail with rum gets him excited. To me summer is all about light beers and refreshing cocktails. A Dark and Stormy is the perfect fresh summer drink – sweet sweet rum with a bite from fresh ginger, refreshing fizzy ginger beer, and twist of lime. The Dark and Stormy is the national beverage of Bermuda and a popular cocktail among the boating community – so it really speaks to warmer weather and being out on the water. Originally crafted by Gosling Brothers of Bermuda using their Black Seal Rum (the Dark) and their Stormy Ginger Beer (the Stormy) in 2009, they actually own the rights to the name Dark ‘N Stormy. We did not have any of Gosling’s Black Seal Rum handy, so we opted for Cruzan dark rum instead. Whichever rum you use, be sure it’s dark! This is definitely going to be your go-to drink this 4th of July and throughout the entire season of Summer. It’s delicious, drinkable and refreshing!
