Because we booked so late for our cruise, we could not choose our stateroom, but instead were assigned one that was still open in the category we booked under – 6A (Deck 8 or 9 with whitewall verandah). Normally when you book though, you will be able to specifically choose your stateroom number based on availability. We ended up in Stateroom 6022, which is actually category 5D, meaning we were on Deck 6 and had a clear verandah – basically we got an upgrade. Yay!
See the silver fish to the left side of our door? That’s where our attendent left us messages, reservation cards or occassionally our Personal Navigator if he did not want to bother us again late in the evening. Clever, Disney, so very clever.
You can see from this photo that we were a deck above the staterooms with extended verandahs. Category 5E are the staterooms with oversized verandahs – and they are twice the size of ours. It was strange to look down and see people sitting below us though. Personally, I would prefer more privacy, so I would book a room not right above those next time.
I was pleasantly surprised by how large the room felt – especially compared to our last cruise on RC with an inside stateroom. We were quite comfy with the amount of space and tons of storage. The couch folds down into a single bed and above the couch in the ceiling is another single bed that the attendent will pull down in the evening for you, if needed. How awesome is it that it folds away neatly during the day to leave extra space.
See those phones on the vanity? Those are Wave Phones, similar to a walkie-talkie, that allow you to keep in touch with the rest of your party throughout the ship! And that’s my bub checking out the split bathroom…
On the Dream and Fantasy, the bed is a Sealy Posturepedic® Premium Plush Euro-top mattress with Frette 100% Egyptian cotton linens. Let me put it this way for you – it’s Uh-Mazing! The Magic is getting an overhaul this fall, including an upgrade to the bed and linens to match what is on the newer ships. I’m so excited because our next cruise is on the Magic.
Also unique to staterooms on the Dream and Fantasy, an iPod Docking Station alarm clock and Disney movies on-demand. As in whenever you want!! Play. Pause. Pick up where you left off. We loved this feature. We could start a Disney classic while getting ready for the day and finish it before falling asleep. They had tons of choices too – classics, animated, Pixar, current features, live action, etc.
On the wall in the front of the bed is this print featuring all four of Disney’s fleet.
Another unique feature to Disney’s staterooms is the split bathroom concept. For us it meant, separate sinks (halelujah!) and no stinky shower (can I get an amen?). 😉 Oh, hi! That’d be me…snappin’ this photo.
I just loved all the little details – Disney exclusive Frette designed bath towels and hidden mickeys on the map lights beside the bed. Disney knows the devil is in the details and they leave nothing untouched.
I hope you enjoyed this look inside our stateroom. Have you been on a cruise? What was your favorite stateroom feature? Drop us a line – we love hearing for you!
Next up from our Disney cruise – The Cove Area.

I get way too giddy every time I spot a hidden Mickey. Like..
“LOOK A HIDDEN MICKEY!” *glances around* *realizes she’s nearly 30 years old* *embarrassed*

Love, love, love it! Thanks for documenting so many of the special details – especially the hidden Mickeys! There’s no shame in Disney-induced giddiness, Erin! Embrace your inner Disney nerd! I so hope whichever ship we eventually book has the on-demand Disney movie feature! How awesome is that? Gorgeous nautical room and bathroom, too!

Hopefully all the tips will come in handy for you one day soon! 😉 And I agree, no shame in embracing your inner Disney nerd! The Wonder should be getting it’s turn in the overhaul bay in 2014, so if they add the on-demand feature to the Magic, then the Wonder shouldn’t be far behind. I can’t imagine that would be a difficult upgrade in the grand scheme of all they are doing already. Fingers crossed!!
