Sadly our (LONG overdue) Disney posts are drawing to a close. But we still have the privilege of sharing a slice of paradise with you. San Juan was neat, St. Thomas was cool, but Disney’s private island was BY FAR the best stop of the cruise.
Also, you want to hear something amazing? We had an entirely KID-FREE day. That’s right, you heard me. Somehow on a Disney cruise we had a day void of any children.
How? You ask. Simple. Strategic planning. Our beach tote was packed and we were in line and ready to pounce on the earliest shuttle available. We were headed far away, past all the hub-bub, the family beaches, the shops, the toys, the games…to a place called Serenity Bay. Adults only beach. White sand stretched out as far as we could see. The weather was perfect, the water was calm and crystal clear. It is truly one of the most beautiful spots I’ve ever been to. Now to let the pictures do the talking…
By the afternoon you’re probably getting hungry from a morning of lounging on the beach. Well, Disney serves lunch on the island. But wait! They set up a location right next to Serenity Bay so you don’t have to go back to the main area to eat. How thoughtful.
Afterwards, it’s back to the beach for more lounging, some swimming, and even more lounging.
Need a drink? No worries, staff are patrolling the beach all day with only one purpose; to bring you drinks.
See?
There’s equipment available to rent. Paddleboards, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. But we were content to just hang out all day under our umbrella, napping, reading, soaking it all in. Before we knew it, it was time to head back.
We opted to walk back through the main ruckus to check out the gift shops and whatnot and got a healthy reality check of what the family beach is like. MAYHEM.
In all honesty, it looked like a total blast and I can’t wait to take my future kids back there one day and make amazing memories. But for now, we’ll keep the status quo. Our quiet lil’ life.
How majestic she is sitting there!
Back to the boat, farewell Castaway Cay. I’ll see you again someday.
