Happy Friday! In honor of Fridays being awesome, I thought I’d start a new series on the blog sharing a few of our current favorite things. Friends and family frequently ask us what kitchen tools we use or where we buy this or that, so why not share the wealth with the rest of you, whoever you are out there reading this. Hello? Anyone out there?? I hope you enjoy reading our little corner of the world. I certainly enjoying writing, taking pictures and sending them out there for all to read. Being a very creative person, this allows me to have some sort of outlet for it.
So I wanted to break this up into a His and Hers favorites to include any men that may read along with us…yeah, I’m talking to you. 😉
Here goes…are you ready?
HIS:
Wüsthof Santoku Knife. This is their Classic Ikon series in Crème and it’s sooooo pretty. Any chef will tell you that the most important tool in the kitchen is a proper knife. It cuts through everything like butter, so watch out for your fingertips. (Hand wash, dry immediately) Oh, and keep a sharpening steel handy so you can hone those lil’ knicks out of the blade regularly and keep it razor sharp.
The Keurig. This is really a mutual favorite thing since we both love coffee, but he really loves it because it keeps life simple. No daily cleaning of a coffee pot! We have model B60, which can do 3 different size, but we mostly use the largest size for our travel mugs every morning. If you buy one and like strong coffee, be sure you are purchasing the BOLD k-cups otherwise your coffee will be a little watered down (at least for my taste).
Star Wars Tervis. We love Tervis tumblers and use them every single day. They prevent those horrible water rings on furniture, they are pretty indestructable, they keep cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot, and they are super cute. Rem being the nerd that he is, of course, has a Star Wars tervis. We bought new themed ones for our Disney cruise and this is the one he got.
HERS:
Marble Pastry Board from Williams-Sonoma. This was a Christmas gift one year from the hubs because we don’t have/can’t afford marble countertops yet. Marble is great if you are an avid baker. It stays nice and cool for rolling out doughs and it’s just darn pretty to look at when working in the kitchen. This one is crafted of white Macael marble from Spain and honed to a smooth finish. Swoon.
Sam & Libby for Target thong sandals. Let’s just get something out in the open: I have a love affair with flat shoes. Don’t misunderstand me here, a good heal goes a long way, but you can almost always catch me in flats on the weekend. I will NEVER be caught dead in tennis shoes or sneakers unless they are fashionable or serve a purpose at that moment (wow, I sound prissy – I’m really not – I just like my feet to breath) – which mainly means when I’m excerising or working in the yard. Closed up shoes with socks is just not my thing if I can avoid it. So I fell in love with the T-strap sandal when they became popular last year. Target recently put out a new line with Sam & Libby of super cute shoes, including these adorable (and uber comfy) thong sandals. At $24.99 they are a bit more than I’d normally pay for glorified flip flops (I’m am a bargain shopper in the worst way), but so worth it. I will be wearing them all summer for sure. I bought them in Metallic, but love all the colors available.
My Head is an Animal by Of Monsters and Men. This CD has been on repeat during my commute to work for weeks now. I generally don’t listen to the radio, so it’s either a cd or my iPod. The CD is by no means “new” since it was released last year, but we only recently discovered this group. Of Monsters and Men croon funky folksy pop music – from toe tapping beats like Little Talks to sad sweet ballads like Love Love Love. Their tunes have a whimsical sound with ever-so-catchy lyrics. It’s feel good music to me.
This is not a sponsored post. We are in no way affiliated with these brands. We just really like them! And we really like you. So leave us a comment. What are some of your favorites of late? Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog so you can keep up via email.
Happy Friday! 🙂

Oh man, I hear you on the bargain shopper thing – especially shoes! Finding a cheap pair of cute shoes that are actually comfortable is an occasion to celebrate indeed. Love the list!
