Happy Friday! Time for another list of some current favorite things. 🙂
HIS
Tomb Raider: A Survivor is Born. I have been a Tomb Raider fan ever since Lara Croft made her first appearance on my PC waaaaay back in 1996. Years passed, more games came, she evolved, the shine faded. So, naturally when they announced a new TR game a couple of years ago, I was highly skeptical. But then the reviews came pouring in, each heaping more praise than the last. So I played it. TR took many notes from the current king of the PS3 franchise, Uncharted, and churned out a fantastic, dark, & grisly reboot. This is NOT the Lara Croft we know. She’s young, a little naive, and it’s also the first time she isn’t sporting a comically oversized bust. The game literally kicks your (her) butt over and over again. Telling the story of how she became a fresh-faced archaeological protĂ©gĂ© to cold-hearted survivor. It’s SUPER fun. Plus…a bow and arrow? I’m in.
NBA Playoffs: It’s spring/summer and that means playoffs baby. I may have missed my calling to be a pro player/coach/NBA analyst. I’m the die-hard fan who uses terms like missed rotation, weak-side help, pinch post, etc…because I just love the game. I play weekly, talk about it daily, have NBAtv running every morning. Can talk for hours about legends of the game…don’t even get me started.
Weihenstephaner: I love me a good beer. In fact, I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to beer. You won’t catch me drinking the titans of the industry like Miller, Budweiser, etc. If I want water, I’ll get some out of the faucet thanks. Germans on the other hand…know how to make some beer, and are quite good at it. Weihenstephaner is the oldest brewery in the world and darn it if they don’t churn out some of the best beer I’ve ever tasted. You can find this stuff at the Bearden Beer Market or the Casual Pint.

Loft Modern Straight jeans in mint. I bought these last week when everything in the store was 40%, so at the time they were $39.  I felt like that was a pretty good deal for something so trendy right now. I’m not always a trendy person, but this mint color seems to look good on just about everyone, including me with my pale girl skin. The Loft jeans are soooooo soft and comfortably stretchy. These are uber cute with the bottom cuff folded up. FYI, it seems they are not currently available online – so check your local Loft store!
Dermologica Dynamic Skin Recovery. Thanks to my friend, Katelyn Comer, who is an aesthetician (yeah, say that word 5 times fast), I was recently introduced to this line of skin care products. I was in the market for something new, particularly a moisturizer that would help prevent aging (not that I’m aging – yet), keep my skin feeling soft, supple and moisturized throughout the day without feeling oily and smelled nice. I hate moisturizers that have a chemical smell to them because that is all my nose picks up for the rest of the day. So I asked Katelyn what she suggested and she wholeheartedly stands behind this line of products – saying they are made from ingredients that are natural and not harmful to your skin. The Dermologica brand is the number one choice among Skin Care Professionals world wide and they’ve been around since 1983. So why aren’t they more widely known? Because they aren’t focused on being the best “brand”, but rather providing skin care that works. Directly from their website: From day one, our formulas raised eyebrows in the industry – not only for the cutting-edge ingredients we used, but also for common ones we omitted. To this day, Dermalogica products shun the industry norm of using cheap chemicals like Mineral Oil, Lanolin, S.D. Alcohol, artificial fragrances and colors – and our packaging has remained simple and sustainable. That makes you feel a little better about what you are putting on your skin, right? Back to this awesome moisturizer – it smells like roses!!! Rose flower oil and rosewood oil are two of the ingredients. I’ve only been using it for a few days, but I love it. My skin feels soft, not oily at all. It feels a little heavy going on, but once your skin soaks it up, it feels very light. And it has a built in SPF to protect your skin! I can’t wait to try other products now!
Kate Spade iPhone case. Because they are uber playful, cute and colorful! Since I cannot afford most things Kate Spade, but I absolutely love her style, so an inexpensive fix is to buy something small like an iPhone case. Her official site always has a sale section, so you could search there, but beause I am extremely hard on my phone cases I opt for even cheaper over at Amazon. So it may be a fake or an outdated style – no one will EVER know. Another option is the Kate Spade Online Discount store. The one pictured above is my favorite so far and one of their most popular, but I just ordered this one (it’s a K for Kara!!):
P.S. Her hardshell iPhone cases are not necessarily the most durable, but they are really cute and so far it has protected my phone, which is what matters.
This is not a sponsored post. We are in no way affiliated with these brands. We just really like them!

The first Tomb Raider I played was on the good ole PS1 – memorrieeees.
I love the mint color, but light colors + capris on my bottom heavy frame is not a good combination, bummer because those are SO cute!
