Happy Friday, y’all! You know what that means for us over here at the Brown house – time for a few of our favorite things.
When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad
Oh, sorry! Sidetracked there by some nostalgia. On to this week’s favorites…
HIS
Propel Fitness Water Packets: As noted in Wednesday’s blog, I drink water all day long. Well, that’s pretty boring. So I like to mix it up. Literally. I like the flavor of the Propels because they aren’t overly sweet like other mixes. This makes it super easy for me to chug down my 5th bottle of water for the day. My fav is the Kiwi-Strawberry.
Trader Joe’s Mediterranean Greek Yogurt Dip: This stuff is pretty much like crack to me. That’s really all there is to it. I wish that I could tell you more, but I’ve said all I can say to bring it the utmost justice. Just go buy some and then come back here and tell me how awesome it is, and then I can be like “I know right?!”
Walks with the D-man: With it being so wretchedly hot AND humid lately, the fetch sessions have been put on hold since corgis overheat very easily. We typically wait until it’s cooled off a little in the evening and take him for his evening stroll. Hey, dogs need their exercise too! He loves his walks and gets super excited if he happens to run into Kirby (the female corgi up the street). I just enjoy the simple time this provides with my wife n’ corgi. I love our neighborhood. Kids are out playing, people tending to their yards, dogs everywhere, and everyone is so friendly.
HERS
Mickael Kors Watch. The hubs gave this to me for my birthday this year! I haven’t worn a watch in years because I usually hate the way they get in the way and flop around and stuff. But I started seeing the Michael Kors’ watches as they became popular and they are sooo pretty. I actually like how big they are too – it’s like a statement. Yes, this is my giant watch and I am proud of it. Also, I am sort of in love with tortoise shell – it goes with brown or black – oh and all that bling doesn’t hurt either.
The Big Bang Theory. We did not watch this show when it first started back in 2008. In fact, we only recently discovered the charm and witty nerdom of this show. When our buddies let us borrow the first season, we blew through it in a matter of days. Actually, we devoured the first 5 seasons in just a few weeks. We could not get enough of it. I can’t believe how long it took us to catch on. So smart, so witty, so funny, just so good. Watch it and watch it now.
Nadia G’s Bitchin’ Kitchen. If you didn’t know this by now, we are obsessed with food tv. We love to cook and love to eat good food, so we constantly watch cooking shows. And Nadia G is by far one of the most unique chefs on tv. She’s crazy, a little lot cooky, but mostly hysterical. Her show blends the wit and wisdom of a satyrical comedic act with innovative recipes and cooking techniques. She often combines ingredients that you would never think to put together, but makes it look delicious. We made her super yummy carrot cupcakes here. Her team always shares insightful information about the ingredients she is using – Panos is the fish monger with vast knowledge of all things under the sea, Hans with info about health and fitness, and the lonely Spice Agent…Yeresk….Yereski….ah…yeah. Whatever his name is. Native of Montreal, but of Italian descent, she often jokes about her accent because it is a strange blend of several languages, but don’t let that throw you.
She is totally wacky and I wish I had her shoe closet, but the most important thing? How does she manage to never get any food on her face? It’s like magic!
Hope you have an awesome weekend!!

OOOH, Propel Zero… so those are good huh? I’ve tried two other brands of water flavor things and they were so nasty, so it’s nice to know there’s still hope out there! And about Nadia’s shoe closet, yeah… I want it as well, but too bad I would have to just sit around and look at my feet all day because there’s no way I could take more than 2 steps without breaking my ankles in some of those puppies!
