So you guys know my love of snacking, right? Cheesy, gooey dips are my favorite! Slam a bowl of some yummy gelatinous goo-filled dip in front of me and I’m liable to eat the whole thing. So I made a lightened up version of one of our favorites – southern sin dip – for you. Or really for me, but I wanted to share it with you. Basically, you can feel a little less guilty about eating the entire bowl of this stuff. π
Perfect for upcoming football games and stuff… π
Ingredients
- 8oz package light cream cheese
- 1 Β½ cup fat free sour cream
- 2 cups shredded light Mexican cheese blend or cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup lean diced ham
- 1/3 cup green onion, chopped
- 1 Β½ Tbsp pickled jalapeno, diced (if you cannot find this use raw)
- 1 tsp worschestire sauce
- 1 whole wheat baguette
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine first 7 ingredients in a medium sauce pan. Heat over medium stirring regularly until cheese has melted. Pour into oven safe dish. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour until bubbling. Serve hot with whole wheat baguette slices or crackers or pretzel crisps.
In the meantime, slice the baguette on a bias into ΒΌ inch pieces. Spread in an even layer on a baking sheet. Toast in a 300-350 degree oven for 5-10 minutes per side until crisp, but not browned. Serve alongside the dip.
