Season of Thanksgiving #11 – My Wife
God answers prayers. Long before I started dating my wife, I made a list of all the qualities I wanted in a woman. I was jaded and bit distraught. Had just come out of a serious relationship that I thought would last. So, I made a list. It was a lengthy list. As I read back over it, I realized there was no way I could find a woman with all those qualities. Well, a few months after I got married, I found that list again. Want to take a guess at how many of those qualities Kara has? Every. Single. One. I’ll say it again, God answers prayers.
I remember her face the first night we hung out together, in the park. Our first kiss. All the times I’ve made her cry laughing. The first time we said “I love you” The time we took a late night walk in that same park and I got down on one knee…
Seeing her walk out in her wedding dress. That moment was purely magical. Watching her fight back tears, bathed in lacey white, being escorted down the aisle towards me. An angel sent straight from heaven into my arms. Her vibrant green eyes piercing my heart. I could not wait to utter those finite words. “I do” To whisk her away as my wife, my partner, my best friend, for life.
I am grateful for each day I wake up next to her and get to call her my wife. I am grateful for all that she is. Grateful she is my partner in all that I do. Every decision, every adventure, every story that the future holds for us.She has no faults. She is perfect in my eyes. We have shared so much in our 6 short years together (married almost 5).
The thing I look forward to the most about our life together?
Her. Just simply her.
Happy Thanksgiving and always remember what you’re thankful for!
