#1 on the list of Thanksgiving…
Matt & Erin Browne – Find them here
It’s easy to take things for granted. Especially people. Especially people you can count on. Well, we don’t do that. And neither do the Brownes. We met in 2008 when we hired Erin (& hubs) to be our wedding photographers. Afterward, we followed their blog and kept up with them because they seemed like neat people. A couple of years later, they went Corgi shopping (for their 2nd)….and so did we (for our first). Well, that changed everything. Because our dogs are literally brothers, we used that as an excuse to get together. Turns out that was a pretty good idea because our mutual love for all things Corgi has morphed into a wonderful friendship. We all talk everyday via Gmail and each take turn making silly pop culture references in our subject headings (see? these people get us!) There’s been corgi b-day parties, hiking, camping, low-key hangouts (which are the best kind of hangouts) and food. SO. MUCH. FOOD. Yeah, we’re all foodies. Anytime we get together there is food. And now cupcakes, as we have all joined forces in Panache Bake Shoppe.
So, they are kicking off my season of thanksgiving and I can say I’m grateful for many things. A mutual love of food, introducing us to all things corgi, giving us awesome wedding photos, lots of laughs, good stories, a complete lack of judgement as they accept our true dork-ness, but most of all…just being awesome people that we seem to mesh with so well. So, here’s to many more years of making awesome memories!

You know the scene in last year’s Christmas special of DW when Amy tells the Doctor they always set a place for him? The face he had in response? Just put that expression on my face and apply it to this post. 🙂 I’ve told Matt our friendship with you guys feels like the kind you typically only make when you’re still a kid and there’s very little social or self-conscious barriers to inhibit you. Nearing 30 and making the kind of friends that so quickly become the lying-around-in-pajamas-with-no-makeup-while-pigging-out-on-pizza type without an ounce of shame, you know you’ve got something rare and special! Here’s to many MANY more years of talking in pure film/TV quotes, yelling at our corgis to behave, making food and baking thousands of cupcakes, and totally relaxing hang outs!
